So, this is just a bit about me. I’m Liz Falconer and I’m a consultant learning designer at Bournemouth University, and Visiting Professor in Pedagogic Enquiry at the University of the West of England in Bristol, U.K. I love my work in virtual worlds and virtual environments, looking at how we can use these online “places” for education and understanding. And for chilling out at the end of a long day, as you can see from the picture on the left :-). But I have also always been passionately interested in archaeology and ancient history. Well, now I have the opportunity to blend both my passions to work on creating 3D online builds of Neolithic ritual sites like Avebury Henge and Stonehenge in Wiltshire, U.K., and investigating if we might get a different perspective on these sites by socialising in them with other people in real time, as avatars. This blog is intended to be a diary, a log and a place to share ideas with, well, anyone who might be interested. So please feel free to comment, question, discuss or disagree!
